1 Corinthians 12:24,25 – no schism
09-10-2019 - Posted by Andre PietNow our respectable members have no need, but God blends the body together, giving to that which is deficient more exceeding honor, that there may be no schism in the body, but the members may be mutually solicitous for one another.
We protect and cover our pubic region properly. We give it that treatment because we know that in reality they are our precious parts. Our heads and hands are from a completely different category. They are seen by everyone and usually do not require special protection.
No matter how different the members are, they are all part of one body. GOD merges it so that there is no schism. Paul uses this word deliberately because it was precisely the Corinthians who were threatened with schisms (Gr. Schisma; 1:10; 11:18). Poor and needy were deprived (11:22) while those who were respected in the world were put on a pedestal (4:10). Paul himself suffered from that attitude because, according to the Corinthians, his performance as a speaker was inferior to that of others (2 Cor. 10:10).
Being “one body” means in practice: all members are needed and valuable.
