1Corinthians 1:28,29 – Embarrassed

…and the ignoble and the contemptible things of the world God chooses, and that which is not , that He should be discarding that which is so that no flesh at all should be boasting in God’s sight.

That God’s choice falls on the foolish, weak, ignoble and contemptible, has a reason. That is not because GOD would find people with such qualities more attractive. No, the reason for GOD’s choice lies in the fact that He thereby wants to confound the wise, strong, noble and that which means(!) something. It is like the selection of Barcelona being beaten 10-0 by an amateur soccer club. It is precisely like this is how GOD embarrasses the delusional world through what is considered despicable. In order to establish that the foolishness and weakness of GOD is wiser and stronger than the best the world has to offer.

By exposing the world with all her religion, philosophy, money, prestige and power, GOD demonstrates that no one should imagine to be anything at all. We are His creation. Nothing of what we are or have is our own. “He knows are formation” (Ps. 103:14). That is why no flesh at all should be boasting in the sight of GOD.
