Ephesians 3:7 – through the evangel

…the nations are to be joint enjoyers of an allotment, and a joint body an joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the evangel of which I became the dispenser, in accord with the gratuity of the grace of God…

The summary of “the secret of the Christ” is expressed by Paul in this verse. The nations share with Christ Jesus the possession of the allotment (= inheritance). Together with him they form one body and together they share the promise made to him.

But how do the nations get part in this glory? The answer is short and concise: through the evangel of which Paul became a servant. Paul was called to be a ‘deacon’ or servant of the evangel which is characterized by the grace of GOD. In Ephesians 1:13 we read that the “Ephesians” had heard the evangel of their salvation and believed it and thus, were “sealed” with God’s spirit. The good news is that “the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity”! (Titus 2:11).

GOD saves all people, gratuitously. That is the Evangel. It is an announcement. And Paul was called to herald it among the nations. What a privilege to hear it. Therefore, spread the word!
